The All New Revivify Games

Pardon the dust; some things were in need of change.

Some of you may notice that this website looks a little different. The time has finally come for an upgrade. Silently, behind the scenes, a ton of people had been unable to complete purchases on my old Squarespace site. And while it was a great platform to get up and running on quickly, the support for more advanced issues like payment processing was less than stellar. I had also been making a ton of concessions when it came to fulfilling physical-item purchases, which required me to manually email each customer a digital copy in addition to their order. So the payment issues were the final kick in the pants I needed to finally take the leap and create a Shopify store.

So first of all, a heartfelt apology to anyone who attempted to make a purchase and was unable to; those issues should now be resolved.

For everyone else, the checkout experience should be vastly improved. I also plan on selling more physical products moving forward, now that the process has been greatly simplified on my end. Finally, I will also be able to return to regular blogging now that I am done with all the tedious work of migrating my content from a platform with almost no export tools. Anyway, on to more interesting things....

The Mark of the League

Zine Quest '26 is almost upon us.

This year, I got an early start. I really wanted to put together a project that was more ambitious than anything I had done before. Most of my gaming over the past year has also been focused on two systems: Dungeon Crawl Classics and Shadowdark. So, why not design something that would work for both? Even more, I have been thinking a lot about what it takes to run a great city-based game in preparation for my next campaign. So why not design something that pulls it all together? The result is a new pseudo-guild, “The League of Dark Few,” an organization that deals in political influence and secrecy.

The League of Dark Few Saga

This year, I will be starting a new zine series for both DCC and Shadowdark, and I won’t just be starting the series with a single zine. In fact, I have already written two, and a short pamphlet adventure, which I will be releasing digitally in a few weeks after I complete a playtest session.

Entry 01: The Darkness Dwellers’ Handbook

First in the series is a zine detailing the league's operations, services, leadership (9 new NPCs), and history. It also introduces the “Vulgar Manse,” the league's headquarters, designed to fit into any mid-size or larger city of your choosing. A robust “contract generator” has also been included to empower GMs to roll up new missions for the PCs to complete and earn their place amongst the membership.

Entry 02: The Secrets of the Vulgar Manse

This second entry is a level-0 gauntlet that takes the PCs into the lower levels of the Vulgar Manse. There, they awaken thinking they were welcomed into the league, only to realize that, first, they must survive a test of their character to earn their place.

Entry 03: The Crypt of the Forgotten Duke

This level 1 adventure takes a group of fresh initiates and sets them loose on the city. They must sneak into some catacombs in the wealthy side of town and retrieve a ring to prove a noble’s lineage.
